Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in Tourism Sector with Malaysian Government

(Phnom Penh): On the morning of September 3, 2019, at the Peace Palace, there is a preparation for a Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony on Cooperation in Tourism Sector between His Excellency Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia and His Excellency Saifuddin Abudullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, under highly presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and H.E. Dr. Mohathir Bin Mohamad, Malaysian Prime Minister. The content of the Memorandum of Understanding is focused on: 
• Researching and Development;
• Human Resource Training;
• Promotion and Propaganda;
• Seminar, Meeting, Conference, and Tourism and Trade Exhibitions;
• Exchanging Study and Formal Tours between Skilled Officers and;
• Fostering other Economic Activities through Tourism Sector;

please be noted that in the last 2018, Cambodia received 6, 2 million international tourists, increased by 10.7%, in which Malaysian tourists were over twenty thousands, increased by 12, 2%. During 6 months early of 2019, Cambodia received over 3, 3 million international tourists, increased by 11, 2%, in which Malaysian tourists were over ninety thousands, increased by 7%. Particularly, Cambodian people visited to Malaysia were thousands too. Please express that currently there are 58 direct flights in a week from Malaysia to the three International Airports of Cambodia, in which including: 7 times to Preah Sihanouk international airport in a week; 11 times to Siem Reap International Airport a week; and 40 times to Phnom Penh International Airport a week.
