70 Cambodian Tourism Professionals Receive Capacity Improvement on Japanese Language

(Phnom Penh): Under collaboration between Ministry of Tourism, ASEAN – Japan Center and Cambodia – Japan Cooperation Center, about 70 Cambodian tourism professionals got Japanese language capacity training to foster Japanese language capacity in skillful manner. The training course opening ceremony was held at Sokha Phnom Penh hotel, in the evening of 09th September 2019, under presidency of H.E. Park Sokhom, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, and with the participations from Miss. Mizuho Kanda, Director in charge of tourism and as representative of ASEAN – Japan Center, professors of Cambodia – Japan Cooperation Center, skilled officers, tourism professionals, students, who totally 70 attended. In the workshop opening ceremony, H.E. Secretary underlined the progress of Cambodian tourism sector under the shade of peace and development in all the fields, stemming from leadership of Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Cambodian Prime Minister.

The workshop was conducted at the same time and in consistent with the requests of tourism professionals in contribution to human resource building in further tourism sector, in particular enhancing Japanese language capacity to be more skillful in contribution to better tourism service provision and satisfaction from tourists, especially Japanese tourists who have been gradually increasing in coming to visit Cambodia. Please be noted that during 7 months early of 2019, Cambodia gained over 3. 8 million international tourists, increased by 11.1%, if compared to the same period in 2018, in which Cambodia got 113, 159 Japanese tourists, increased by 2.6%. By prediction in 2010, Cambodia will get about 7 million international tourists and create close to 1 million direct jobs.
