Minister Thong Khon: Cambodia Is Revising New Strategies to Attract Tourists While Some Destinations Have Changed in Time of Trade War
(Phnom Penh): Mr. Thong Khon, Minister of the Ministry of Tourism said that “Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotional Board”, chaired by the Ministry of Tourism has been preparing newly strategies in attracting more international tourist growth to visit to Cambodia; while the certain destinations have been changing in the stage of trade war. To simplify this work, on 02 October 2019, Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotional Board summoned its members at the office of the Ministry of Tourism, under presidency of H.E. Minister Thong Khon, in name of Chairman of the Board.
At the sideline of the meeting, Minister Thong Khon told Fresh News that Marketing and Promotional Board, following the adaption on already conditions and internal regulations will continue discussing on the preparation of newly strategies for a greater Cambodian tourism sector development; while the world is facing the crisis of trade war which comes from United States of America and Giant China. He added that the crisis of trade war has caused the some tourist destinations change, and Cambodia needs to seize markets or potential tourist destinations – needs to organize both strategies, means, and budgets to promote to the main destinations forwards attracting tourists to come more to Cambodia with quality and efficiency. Mr.
Thong Khon strongly stressed that, for Chinese market, Cambodia needs to further improve because China is a big tourism market in the globe; but need to go deeply into any potential main tourist destination, and Cambodia is to well organize in promoting at there as well as in the ASEAN, Asia, Europe, and American markets by going in target and using effectively all means, pictures and budgets. - The Conditions of Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotional Board.
- Internal regulations of Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotional Board.
- Decision on the Establishment of the 5 Skilled Task Forces, including A Task Force for Marketing Research and Foreign Tourism Promotion; A Skilled Task Force for Organizing Local International Tourism Events, Production, A Publication & Digital Publishing Working Group; A Task Force for Organizing Study Tour (Fam Trip); and A Task Force for Organizing Oversea Travel Agencies, as well as the establishment of Secretariat of Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotional Board.
