7th Commission of the National Assembly Supports Roadmap in Post – Covid-19 Tourism Recovery

(Phnom Penh): In a talk between Commission for Education, Youth, Sports, Cult and Religious Affairs, Culture and Tourism of the National Assembly (7th Commission) and Ministry of Tourism, in morning of 13th August 2020, at the National Assembly Building, His Excellency Hun Many, Chairman of the 7th Commission, supported for road-map in post – Covid-19 tourism recovery. H.E Thong Khon informed the meeting about prioritized major tasks the ministry needs to do in the stage of Covid-19 and post – Covid-19 crisis, including: Building Trust and Confidence, Right Price, Green Travel Bubble and Travel Facilitation.

H.E minister emphasized the driving for internal tourist movement, especially in the upcoming long – holiday, by the ministry had put tourist safety measures of 7 kinds of services in place forwards to ensuring the protection and prevention to Covid-19 pandemic, and providing services to national and international tourists who will go to visit at nationwide tourism resorts with safety, quality, proper price, order, and good sanitation and environment, on which need to be firmly implemented upon the instructions of the ministry of health, by having been to wear mask, washing hand, and keeping social distancing.

The 7th Commission of the National Assembly high valued for H.E Thong Khon’s and servants’ efforts in difficult time of Covid-19, by having been accomplished previously numerous achievements and progresses in tourism, and having been laid out accurate and clear vision, strategies and road-map in order to drive the recovery of Cambodian tourism. Expert Commissions of the National Assembly has also found out facing challenges that ministry of tourism have been encountering, and provided recommendations, as additional inputs, and provided support to ministry in promoting the 4 strategies implementation, the scientific road-map preparation and the studying on guideline of “Travel Bubble” in order to improve cooperation between nations and nations in the aim at driving tourist movement.

H.E Hun Many also inspired ministry of tourism to continue its mission based on practical situation of the country, focusing on the consideration over three main factors, in which include: vision and strategy; technical factor; and public factor (public opinion). H.E also emphasized that, in the stage of Covid-19 crisis, the building trust and confidence to tourists, either domestic tourists or international tourists is really importance at the same time ongoing efforts in increasing deep cooperation, at both national and international frameworks, and the advertisement to know that Cambodia is as a nation with fully peace and warm in welcoming all tourists.
