Cambodia Decides to Suspend Flights from Philippine, Starting from 13 August Onward
(Phnom Penh): After having subsequently imported cases of Covid-19 through the flights coming into Cambodia, this time the Cambodian Ministry of Health issued a notification, deciding to suspend the flights from Philippine, taking in effect from 13 August 2020 onward, this according to a news release, received by Fresh News. The suspension announcement came following an approval by Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Cambodian Prime Minister, on 11 August 2020. A notification of the Ministry of Health said that the decision of the Royal Government in temporarily suspending flights from Malaysia and Indonesia which has been in effect on last 01 August 2020 has contributed to prevention to the Covid-19 pandemic, and during the last few days, the ministry noted that, the infection rate has sharply jumped up in Philippine, bringing the rate of Covid-19 containers to a highest rate amidst Asian member nations. The ministry continued that; so the passengers who come from Philippine are also concerned. In other words, on the last 08 August 2020, a flight from Philippine, consisting total 119 passengers were found that up to 13 passengers were tested positive for Covid-19, confirmed by Pasteur Institute of Cambodia and Institute of Public Health. To be safe and welfare for Cambodian people as well as a whole Cambodia, Inter – Ministerial Committee for Combating with Covid-19 also called on all Cambodian peoples to need to continue carrying out necessary self – prevention measures in order to prevent the infection of Covid-19 from an individual to individual, and from having no the second wave of Covid-19 infection. As of morning of 11 August 2020, Cambodia is of total 266 Covid-19 infectors (women 52 and men 214). The 220 patients were already healed, in which 46 are women and 174 are men. Separately, those who are being treated are 46, this according to a notification of the Ministry of Health.
