Samdech Techo HUN SEN Issued a Congratulatory Letter on World Tourism Day under Theme “Tourism and Rural Development”

(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Cambodian Prime Minister, on the 25 September 2020, issued a congratulatory letter on World Tourism Day, under the theme “Tourism and Rural Development”. In above letter, Samdech Techo Prime Minister also congratulated again which last 2019, the world got international tourist of up to 1, 500 million, in growth rate of 4%, contributed to about 330 jobs creation, equivalent to 10% of total employments, generated about 10.3% into economy of world gross domestic products (World GDP), representative to 7% of world total exportation, and about 29% of total exportation in service. This indicates that tourism sector has still been in the third rank of the world exportation following fuel exports and chemical products exportation; leading in car and food products exportation. Separately, Cambodian tourism sector enjoys a profound growth, by the growth of receiving international tourists from only sixty three thousands in 1998 up to 6.6 million international tourists in 2019 and created about sixty three thousands direct jobs for people and thousands indirect jobs. From early of 2020 up to now, Cambodia as well as other countries in the world has received impacts from COVID-19 disease. In this difficult circumstance, Cambodian Royal Government through National Committee for Combating COVID-19 has cooperated with World Health Organization and other related parties in preventing high effective the outbreak of COVID-19, there have no pandemic in communities, no dead case confirmed, there are minor imported-positive cases to be vigorous checked and hospitalized by Cambodia’s skilled medical staffs, as volunteer doctors as well as related authorities. On the top of this, Cambodian Royal Government also put out measures to rescue the businesses and served staffs and the poor families impacted by COVID-19 disease.
