His Excellency Thong Khon Advises to Students in Baray and Tang Kok Districts That Professional Skills Are the Life for Each of Us
(Kampong Thom): His Excellency Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and President of Working Group for Helping Baray and Taing Kork Districts, advised to the students who have been studying in the two districts that professional skills are the life for each of us, when receiving better knowledge and professional skills need to go back to develop in their respective bases in order to contribute to a greater development. Such addressing of H.E Thong Khon was made in the Computer Skills Certificate Handover Ceremony to the students in Baray Information Technology and Tourism Vocational Training School, on the morning of 22 November, at the Hun Sen 5th Development Center, in Baray district, Kampong Thom province. On that occasion, Minister Thong Khon stated that Cambodia today enjoys peace, political stability, security, full public order and development on all the fields, under leadership of Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister. At this point, want to illustrate that the citizens are to maintain the value of peace and think of increasing opportunity to students at the locals in order to get training in order for them get skills and knowledge and have initiative, know how to plan and practical implement in the cause of making personal interests and achievements for locals and for the nation as well. He added that the process and action of training of Baray District Information Technology and Tourism Vocational Training School are really the reflection about the proactively participation in order to achieve the local human resource development. Obviously, today achievement is another new achievement of the effort and partnership cooperation and altogether participation in building up local human resources. He requested the school to continue opening primary computer skill training courses as many as possible to students and youths in the Baray and Tang Kok districts, especially asked the school steering committee to consider on extending curriculums and catching the usage of technology to aid in online training for short, medium and long term periods on the other skills, in particular in soft skills and additional tourism skills based on the ability of the school in consistent with market requirement in Baray and Tang Kok districts as well as in the other capitals/provinces. Ministry of Tourism under the collaboration with Tourism and Hospitality Vocational Training School and some partners provide free scholarships in tourism and hospitality skills, on which the youths and students in Baray and Tang Kok districts are able to apply for the continuing study in order to get real knowledge and skills to apply in careers as the tourism professionals, and continue building up a stronger their capacities because the professional skills are our lives and in order to become a stronger pillar and have potentiality for the locals and the nation in the future. He also instructed youths and students to need to take part in preventing the outbreak of Covid-19 which is spreading throughout the world, especially preventing the local transmission. A teacher Hong Sok Oeurn, president of management committee of the Informational Technology and Tourism Vocational Training School, stated that since the first opening of the training course in 2009 up to date, the school has trained students of 31 courses, of which there were 1, 214 students. The students who get the certificates in computer skill now amount 237 (4 courses). A new course (32nd), there was students of 103. Mrs. Pon Vandy, a resident residing in Tang Kok district and as the mother of a student Chum Yothea, expressed satisfaction over studying achievements of her daughter, after having been studying in Baray Information Technology and Tourism Vocational Training School. She has strongly believe the school will ongoing contribute to training human resources in the two bases, as she also inspires the studying of her daughter to receive knowledge for the sake of increasing the family livelihood as well as contributing to local and national development.
