Ministry of Tourism Has Tourism Recovery Strategy During and Post-COVID-19 Crisis

(Phnom Penh): Minister of Tourism H.E Dr. Thong Khon led a meeting with expert working groups to seek strategies in addressing the facing challenges in order to recover tourism sector in and post–COVID-19 crisis. The meeting was conducted in the evening of 06th January 2021, at the office of the ministry of tourism. The meeting announced a decision on the composition and tasks of the sub-working group revision to drive and follow the first step tourist safety measures implementation, under a working group for tourism promotion and motivation during and post-COVID-19 crisis. After listening to the presentations of the general department and the specialized departments, the meeting discussed and received key recommendations from H.E Dr. Thong Khon and leaderships by focusing mainly on the three topics include:

  • Road-map on Cambodia’s tourism recovery and promotion plan in and post-COVID-19 crisis.
  • Prokas on putting in use guideline for event organization in tourism destinations across Cambodia.
  • Update of organizing works for Travel Bubble

H.E Dr. Thong Khon has tried to transform the facing challenges into opportunity in tourism development and get ready for tourism recovery through road-map for tourism recovery in and post-COVID-19 and preparation plan for travel bubble with neighboring countries in the region and with China, Japan and Korea in the near future.
