ASEAN Tourism Ministers Adapt on Declaration on a more Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient ASEAN Tourism  

(Phnom Penh): In the Meeting of 24th ASEAN Tourism Ministers on 04 February 2021 confirmed that ASEAN Tourism Minister supported the adaption on Phnom Penh Declaration on a more Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient ASEAN Tourism, initiated and organized by the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism.

The 24th ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting was held via video-conference, organized by the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, to be chaired by His Excellency Dr. THONG Khon, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia. The Phnom Penh Declaration on a more Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient ASEAN Tourism centered on the three main points include:

  1. Jointly Addressing the Impact of COVID-19 Crisis:

Strengthen a closer cooperation in ASEAN cooperation framework through preparation of ASEAN tourism recovery plan.

  1. A Greater ASEAN Tourism in the Future:

The sustainable, inclusive and resilient ASEAN tourism development has mainly centered on jobs opportunity creation, supporting on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise as well as sustaining on the vulnerable groups.

  1. Tourism Development in Digital Technological Era:

Provision of tourism professional training through additional skills training and newly skills, especially digital, innovative and entrepreneurship skills for the tourism professionals at the present and in the future are main factors for a sustainable, inclusive and resilient tourism development in the future.
