Minister of Tourism Reminds Capital – Provincial Governors to Be Strict for Tourist Safety Measure Implementation at Tourism Business Bases during Community Accident of 20 February

(Phnom Penh): His Excellency Dr. THONG Khon, Minister of Tourism on 21 February 2021, issued a requesting letter asking all capital – provincial governors to continue pushing the implementation of guidelines of the royal government and the tourist safety measures at the tourism service business bases in its respective jurisdiction to contribute to combating the pandemic of COVID-19 during the community accident of 20 February. Those guidelines include 4 points:

  1. Have to disseminate and implement constantly recommendations of Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of Cambodia on the rule “3 Protect, 3 Don’t”, which include: Are to apply the 3 protection; wear a mask; wash your hand often, keep social distancing and individual safety gap from 1 meter and a half up to everyone and everywhere. Practice 3 Don’t – is not go into a closed places, no ventilation and use too much air conditioner to find a well-ventilated places, do not go to crowded places, do not touch each other, do not shake hands, do not close each other’s shoulders, do not hug each other, etc. When you meet someone who has the flu or is suspected of having COVID -19, do not go out and contact your doctor or call 115.
  2. Continue constantly checking and strengthening the tourist safety measures if the Royal Government for Spa, health massage businesses and adult tourism center businesses (karaoke, bar, discotheque and beer garden) which have not yet been reopened.
  3. For entertainment club business and karaoke KTV in Phnom Penh and in the provinces which have been transformed to restaurants are to obey firmly rules of the Ministry of Health and tourist safety measures for restaurant service businesses and tourism food stores in the combating against with the pandemic of COVID-19.  In the case that any business base is negligent in not implementing any part or point of the guidelines, the business activities shall be suspended until there is an adjustment in accordance with the guidelines before the business is allowed to operate.
  4. For tourist safety measures (step 1) that have been put into practice so far, in which include, tourist safety measure for tourism accommodation services; tourist safety measures for tourism restaurant services and tourism food stores,  safety measures for waterway tourism transport services, safety measures for land-route tourism transport services, safety measures for tourism resorts, and safety measures for tourism community are needed to pay attention in widely and actively disseminating and additional constant implementing through the task forces established.
