(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Royal Government has lifted the temporarily ban on the direct flights originating from Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines, according to the news release by the Ministry of Health.
The ministry of health’s news release expressed that “in accordance with a highly note of approval of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padie Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, dated on October 23, 2021, the Inter – Ministerial Committee for Combating Against COVID-19 would like to announce deleting of a press release No.140 សខល dated on July 25, 2021 and No.175 សខល dated on August 11, 2021 on the temporarily ban on flights originating from Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines to the Kingdom of Cambodia to contribute to the reopening of step by step socio – economic activities on all the fields in line with a new normal context as well as the restoration of the air transportation sector and cooperation which has taken effect from the dates of signing onward”.
It should be noted that Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the last October 22, 2021 on the occasion of chairing the cabinet meeting instructed the skilled ministries – institutions to view the possibility in reopening the flights with ASEAN member nations such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines in order to receive tourists and investors to Cambodia.
Techo HUN SEN stated that “the possibility in reopening the air route with Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta or any point of Indonesia, and the Philippines to Cambodia is needed to be considered which we have well managed and for our airports, we have also reduced the amount of time taken for quarantine which could be a part of attraction leading to the reopening for safe tourism or vaccinated tourism”.
Please be informed that the Royal Government reduced the time of quarantine for passengers entering into Cambodia who already been fully vaccinated by 3 days quarantine is required for investors, Khmer national and foreign nationals technical staffs, diplomats, official cooperative project implementing officials and the government officials who return from conducting mission abroad, as the general Khmer or foreign national passengers are to implement 7 days quarantine scheme. Separately, the 14 days quarantine scheme needs to be carried out for all kinds of passengers who have not been vaccinated, or have not been fully vaccinated with basic dose of vaccines.
