(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the Evening of November 14th, 2021, has decided to allow both Cambodian and foreign passengers who have been vaccinated with two doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines to enter Cambodia without being anymore vaccinated. Except for those who have not been vaccinated are required to be quarantined for the same 14 days, according to a special message sent out to compatriots in relation to the instruction on passengers entering into Cambodia on 14 November.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister stressed that “since our Cambodia has fully vaccinated, the coverage rate is close to 88 percentages of the 16 million populations”; hence the quarantine is no need anymore, except for those who have not been vaccinated. Those who have not been vaccinated are required to be quarantined for 14 days, but for both Cambodian and foreign nationals who have already been vaccinated with two doses of anti –Covid-19 vaccines entering into the Kingdom of Cambodia are not required to be quarantined”.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen further expressed that for passengers traveling by air both in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, and Siem Reap, by water and by land, a quick test is required, only 15 minutes are needed to take for the test, and the result will be known.
Samdech added that after getting a negative test result, all passengers entering Cambodia are able to freely travel throughout the country, regardless of regions, or provinces. Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed that those who have not been vaccinated and come to Cambodia are required to be tested with a PCR machine and have to be quarantined for 14 days. The Prime Minister also instructed the relevant ministries and institutions to immediately work on the decision of the Royal Government to be able to process this decision from November 15, 2021, onward. For those who are being quarantined after receiving this new decision, please be exempted from being quarantined from 15 November 2021.
Samdech Techo HUN SEN expressed further that the decision on allowing for being not quarantined for those who have been fully vaccinated is in line with Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.
Samdech Techo HUN SEN added that the exception for quarantine is done in response to a new context in which we have reopened the economy, as Cambodians are to travel in and out of the country, but are concerned about being quarantined, now no more worries about this.
