United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Helps Promote on Quarantine Exemption for Vaccinated Passenger Coming to Cambodia

(Phnom Penh): The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) helped promote the quarantine exemption for vaccinated passengers coming to Cambodia, as the ministry of tourism disclosed confidence that the international tourists would more visit Cambodia through the helping of promotion by the World Tourism Organization.

The World Tourism Organization said that from 15 November 2021, all passengers who have been fully vaccinated coming to Cambodia via all international checkpoints (land, air, and waterways) are no longer being quarantined. To get this exemption, the vaccinated passengers need to provide:

  1. Certificate of Full COVID-19 Vaccination and
  2. Certificate of Negative COVID-19 PCR Test Result with 72 Hour Validity.

Above certificate or letter of identification of negative test result, PCR has to be issued by competent authorities of their home country. When arriving at international checkpoints, passengers are to be rapid tested and wait for result for 15 to 20 minutes. If the result is negative, the passengers are able to travel throughout Cambodia.

To unvaccinated passengers are required to be quarantined for 14 days after being rapid tested at the international checkpoints. At the same time, passengers who now are being quarantined in Cambodia are allowed to complete quarantine from 15 November 2021 onwards, if all of those are negative tested for COVID-19.

H.E Thong Khon, minister of tourism, showed optimistic that the additional promotion by the World Tourism Organization about Cambodia’s facilitation in receiving international tourists. On behalf of the representative of the ministry of tourism, H.E minister believes that international tourists would more visit Cambodia through this helping of promotion by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
