The Ministry of Tourism enhances the SPA Professional Skill and ASEAN Standard Welfare by Opening Training Courses to those who are serving in SPA and Welfare
H.E Park Sokhom, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism and as high representative of H.E Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, attended as preside over in opening training course on SPA and Welfare Skills with the participation from Spa and Welfare business owners, Spa professionals, technical officials, students totally about 100, in the morning of 07 August 2018, at Cambodia – Korea Cooperation Center (CKCC), the Capital of Phnom Penh. To promote Spa and welfare professionals to get knowledge, skills, and high attitude, the Ministry of Tourism established common training program standard in order to enhance Spa professional skill and further provide to Spa experts in consistent with national standard responding to ASEAN standard. In past, the Ministry of Tourism paid attention on training about 1000 Spa and Welfare professionals at the main tourism destinations in order to welcome national and international tourists by satisfactory service providing and high professional code of conduct. Training course on Spa and Welfare Skill to those who are serving in had been conducted in the aims at trying to train further new skills to those who are serving in Spa and Welfare services at both theory and direct practice on existing skills to make sure that below goals are accomplished:
1. In 2020, Cambodia tourism will reach jobs by making training and evaluating on 50% Cambodian tourism professionals;
2. In 2025, Cambodian tourism will reach jobs by making training and evaluating on 100% Cambodia tourism professionals by contributing to promote campaign “One staff, one skill”;
3. In 2030, Cambodia tourism will reach sustainable development goals SDGs in point 4 and 8;
Please remind that with sharply national and international growth in the last recent years, tourism sector created about 620, 000 direct jobs, equal to 13% of gross domestic product, and in 2020 will create close to 1 million direct jobs, and in 2025 close to 1.2 million and 2030 will create about 2 million jobs by not include other thousands indirect jobs.
