Laang Span in Battambang province

Laang Span is a pre historical station having the oldest age in Khmer.
Deputy Director General of General Department of Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts expressed that Laang Span is a pre – historical station having oldest age in Khmer that until now there are no any station has been indicated that older than this station. Mr. Heng Sopady, Deputy Director General of General Department of Heritage expressed in an interview with news reporter of BTV that the Ministry and France researchers, there will be a volunteering exaction from students of University of Archeology and researchers from United State, China, and Vietnam, previously excavated at Laang Span Station, expressed that the age of this pre – historical station is oldest. Laang Span is situated at Kilo 38 village, Treng commune, Ratanak Mondol district, distancing about 40 km from provincial town of Battambang. This pre – historical station was excavated since 2009 until 2018. He added that throughout cooperation will bring about many new results with variety information for studying, analyzing in order to reach comment about living standard, technic of instrument making from stone, environment, and natural resources existed in the region. Beside of this, the Ministry has policies to train human resource in order to have skills on each part. The Deputy Director General expressed further that; yet, this research we cannot conduct only at Laang Span is that we will inclusively conduct research in Battambang province.
