Japan Contributed Significantly in the Process of Seeking Peace and Cambodian Economic Development

 

The Prime Minister HUN SEN stated on behalf of the Royal Government and the Cambodian people, Prime Minister HUN SEN showed a gratitude and once again highly valued for the government and the people of Japan who have significantly contributed in the process of seeking a peace, national unification as well as restoration and Cambodian economic development to have prosperity until present day, through cooperative financial provision, the infrastructural construction, technical assistants, and human resource development as well as the investments of Japanese private sector in Cambodia.

The premier stated such in the morning of May 29, 2019, within a seminar on Climate of Investment in Cambodia, which is a workshop with the attendances from the Japan’s main leaderships, Cambodian government officials, the Council for Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the participation from a number of major investors as well. The Prime Minister HUN SEN expressed that on the day after tomorrow the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and himself will do a testimony in a Signing Ceremony on Exchange Letter on Grant Provision for the project of human resource development scholarship provision in money volume of Yen 339 million and a container stockpile construction project in special economic zone of Preah Sihanouk autonomous port in money volume of Yen 200 million. He said added that in the framework of official cooperative finance is thought since 1992 to 2018, the Japanese friends provided numerous official cooperative finances about over USD 2, 8 billion, equivalent to 15% of total finances of all development partners for the contribution to Cambodian socio – economic development. The Premier HUN SEN underlined that the Japanese friends have been supporting on major infrastructural projects such as the constructions of Kizona Bridge, Teu Ba Sa Brigde, the making better a road number 1 and 5, the development of a new container station of Preah Sihanouk autonomous port, and making a better of flood protection in Phnom Penh in fourth phase. Making better of road rail of 1 and 5 have made these roads become significantly strategic roads of the South economic corridor linking the two main economic pols of Greater Mekong Sub-region is between Ho Chi Minh city and Bangkok city.
