Itinerary

One Day Trip.

Time: 7 – 8 in the morning : Breakfast.

-Time: 8 – 9 in the morning : Visit to Watkor Ancient House ( It is regarded as a cultural village, located at along Sangkea River in  Watkor         Village,Watkor Commune, Battambang   District, Battambang Province. These houses made of wood with Khmer ancient style decorations, showing about old  Generation Khmer houses, and the most of which were  built at the early of 20 centuries).

Time: 9 – 10 in the morning : Visit to Grape Plantation (located at Botsala Village,Chheuteal Commune, Banan District, on the way to Banan  Temple.It is a place, where the grape is produced to be the Grape Wine that there is only one in Battambang Province

Time: 10 – 12 in the morning : Continue to visit Banan Temple (situated at Bannan  Village, Kanteu2 Commune, Banan District, this Temple  is on the top of the mountain and consists of five tops, similar to Angkor Wat Temple, built in the middle of  11th centuries and in the end of 12th centuries in the reign of the king Utayatityavarman II (1950-1066) and  the king JayavarmanVII (1181-1219).Time: 12 – 14 at the afternoon : Lunch and back to the city.

Time: 14 – 16 at the evening : Visit to heritage buildings, French Colonial Buildings in Battambang Municipality (on the road 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3).

Time: 16 – 18 at the evening  : Go to take Bamboo Train and see the sunset (situated at  OdombangI Village, Odombang Commune, Sangkea  District, distancing about 5 km from the Battambang It is a transportation way that features like the Bamboo Bed, equipped with a small machine and it sizes 4 m x 2.5m, travelling on the railway. At the present time,                                                                   it is used to take the tourists and other products.Moreover  , it is a unique product that can’t be found at the other   places beside Battambang Province.

Time: 18 – 19 at night : To see the Arts and Circus performances at Phare Ponleu Selpak.

Time: 19 at night : Have dinner and rest.

Two Days Trip.

First day

Second day

Time: 7 – 8 in the morning : Have breakfast.

Time: 8 – 9 in the morning : Visit to Wat Samrong Knong (located in Samrong Knong  Village, Samrong Commune, Ek Phnom District. It is the  oldest pagoda in Battambang Province, which was built  in 1707 by Mr. Thudong Chey, it is named by the name of one kind of tree called (Samrong), and this Pagoda is   involved in Khmer Rouge Regime, at that time it is used as a prison for detaining the prisoners.

Time: 9 – 10 in the morning : After seeing the pagoda, continue to see the places where  Sticky Rice Bamboos are sold and produced that not far   from the pagoda. Sticky Rice Bamboo is a kind of cake  that has ingredients such as: Rice, Bean, Coconut and  other ingredients which are mixed together and put in bamboo then burn it.

Time: 10 – 11 in the morning : Continue to see the Cheese Market (along the Sangkea River. It is a place where the biggest cheese production is made).

Time: 11 – 14 at the afternoon :  Back to the city and have Lunch.

Time: 14 – 15 at the afternoon : To see the places where the Spring Rolled Paper and   White Wine are sold and produced (located on the way to   Ek Phmon Temple).

Time: 15 – 16 at the evening : Visit to Ek Phmon Temple (at the Takom Village, Peam  Ek Commune, Ek Phnom District, distancing about 12 km  from the municipality, Currently, It is strong disrepair, and it is made of sandstone in the 11th centuries by the king  SoyavarmanI, and the surrounding perimeter, there are big  banyans, providing the shade for visitors, there are food   and drink shops surrounding the temple.

Time: 16 – 18 at the evening : Visit to Phnom Sampov Resort and see the Bat (located at Phnom Sampov Village, Phnom Sampov Commune,   and Banan District distancing about 13 km from the city on the national road57 to Pailin Province. This mountain is similar to a ship and has the height about100 m consisting  of 700 climbing stairways, currently, there is concreted    way that cars and motors can reach the top. There are    several caves, but the caves can be accessible are: PkaSla,   Leakhhon and Asospeak, and on the top, there is a pagoda  and many statues. On the other hand, the stories of this  mountain is linked to Khmer legend namely Preahbat Reachkoul Neangromsaysok. More importantly, tourists      go there to see the thousands of Bats flying from the cave  to find the foods at 17 pm to 18:30 pm every evening.
